33 Torbay AC members took part in this spectacularly scenic race with many successful achievements, on this relatively fast course, despite the steep hill from Bittaford to Moorhaven.
On the podium the Club claimed the 1st lady finisher with Charlie Arnell, 1st MV50 and 5th overall was Peter Monaghan, 1st FV60 Tessa Hearfield, also the 2nd Men’s team prize with Peter Monaghan, Jason Hurford and Shaun Mckernan. A total of 762 runners took part.

Pennywell Pursuit 10K
The previous Sunday evening saw the Inaugural Pennywell Pursuit 10K trail run take place, with Torbay AC runner Jason Hurford securing second place. This challenging 10K race saw 168 runners take part, the route has over 1000ft of ascent and used private woods, fields and around Pennywell Farm itself.
Ten minutes into the race and the heavy rain started and there was no let up for the runners. The event also raised over £1,000 for Torbay Holiday Helpers Network Charity. The Miwok 100K Trail Race
Adharanand Finn ran the 62.2 mile ultramarathon known as the “What? Mi-Wok? Trail 100K”, that takes place annually in southern Marin County, California, The race started and ended in the town of Stinson Beach. Almost all of the course is on fire roads and single-track trails with climb totals of approximately 11,800 feet The race began at 5:00am with Finn completing this gruelling challenge 77th in (12hrs 15mins) saying “its a killer!”

The Dark Ox Half Marathon
Torbay’s Mark Bruce ran The The Dark Ox Half Marathon part of the White Star Running Series, starting and finishing in the beautiful Rushmore estate West Wiltshire with the course over the downs and along the ancient Ox Droves. very hilly and mostly off road. Race medals were chrome silver coloured with black enamelling Mark Bruces finished in 2hr 4mims.

Debbie Drake finished 3rd in the V50 category after taking on the 12.2k Kandel Mountain Run in the Central Black Forest area of Germany with an elavation of 940 meters. finishing in a time of time of (1.24.21)

Round the Tree Race
At the Torrington Round the Tree race a 2.75 mile multi-terrain race starting and finishing in Great Torrington Matthew Botting finished 37th male out of 75 in a time of (22:24)

Glastonbury 10k
Emma and Simon Gilboy ran the Glastonbury 10K one of the largest road race events in Somerset, held on a mainly rural course that undulates around the ancient and mysterious Isle of Avalon, starting and finishing within a stones throw of the alleged burial place of King Arthur within the grounds of Glastonbury Abbey Finishing 218th Emma Gilboy (48:18),
275th . Simon Gilboy (50:48) a total of 614 runners took part.

The Crediton Crunch
Three Torbay members ran in the Crediton Crunch a very challenging new course, undulating and multi-terrain course along quiet country lanes with a mile long clim to the finish line! Finishing 12th Jerry Hocking 38:33 (3rd MV45), 45th Graham Reynolds in 44:43 (5th MV50) and 73rd Nick Robinson in 48:22 (10th MV40).

Run Exe Summer 5k Round 2 of 6
At the Run the Exe 5K series round 2 of 6 with 127 runners on a great traffic free and pancake flat run on footpaths and cycle tracks around Exwick Playing Fields Finishing 4 Peter Monaghan (16:56) 28 Charlie Arnell (18:25) 56 Anthony Raine (20:24) 66 Nick Robinson (21:05)
