Ironman Bolton 2015 Paul Mulley

To cross the finish line at an Ironman race you need to be made of tough stuff and Torbay Tri Club’s Paul Mulley exemplified this having had an eventful day of racing at Ironman UK in Bolton. Covering a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and then 26.2 mile marathon, having suffered two punctures, a heavy crash and damaged bike early on in the bike leg, Paul dug deep to soak up the finish line atmosphere with a very impressive time of 13h:58m12s.

RECORD SCORE FOR TORBAY AT DEVON OPEN PLYMOUTH

Big increase of points for TeamTORBAY AC at round 3.

RESULTS > CLICK HERE

ROUND 3 of 4 – Plymouth Brickfields Athletic Track

Another good turnout from Torbay Athletic club members at Plymouth today, 3 adults and 14 juniors. A damp day in Plymouth which must have put off a few as the round 3 event had only 173 athletes competing compared to previous events. But those who did attend seemed to enjoy themselves and some great competition took place and many wins from club members.
Torbay dropped from 4th in table to 5th but this could change at round 4 on Sunday August 9th.

Top 4 athletic clubs in the Devon league table enjoy all weather track facility. Torbay AC nearest track is Exeter Arena. Considering lack of good facility Torbay AC does extremely well thanks to great team and coaches.

The Devon Open is four meetings during the Summer, Round 1 is at Braunton Track, Round 2 is at Tavistock Athletic Track, Round 3 is at Plymouth and Round 4 back to Braunton.

Torbay points score has gradually increase from 306 points round 1, 320 round 2, 369 round 3.
