Torbay twins battle again for first home for club at Dornafield Ladies 10k

Five Torbay Ladies ran the very tough and hilly Newton Abbot Ladies 10k, The race started and finishd at the beautiful Dornafield Caravan and Camping Site near Two mile Oak. 2014 was the 17th year at the superb venue. The scenic course follows undulating rural lanes throughout with little traffic and passes through the local hamlets of Ogwell and Denbury. The first 5k was very tough with some short nasty hills.

Last year Torbay twin Natasha and Nicola Stanbury had a close battle to be first Torbay AC member home with Natasha finishing first. This year a similar battle took place with Natasha taking an early lead but it was her twin Nicola who was as stronger on the day finishing 40 seconds ahead of her twin. Natasha still had a course pb of 3 seconds but her twin Nicola improved by 58 seconds..

Emma Gilboy was the biggest improver with a course pb of almost 2 minutes.
