Another chance to experience 10(ish) miles of hilly , muddy cross-country terrain, enjoy the stunning views of the Teign valley, and tackle the infamous Hunter’s Path hill . Half of your entry fee will be donated to the National Trust to help with the upkeep of Castle Drogo.
At the Drogo 10 Arran Tocknell claimed 2nd place in (1:03:10) with Naomi Flanagan taking 3rd Lady spot in (1:17:26), this is one of the very toughest hilly 10 mile races in the South West a muddy cross-country race with stunning views if runners do get a chance to look up as they tackle the infamous Hunter’s Hill Path leading up to Castle Drogo other Torbay AC finishers were Jon PARKINSON 11th (1:07:57 1st MV 45) , Dave TOMLIN 12th (1:08:01) he had run the Killerton Parkrun the day before 44th was Jerry HOCKING ( 1:16:11) 60th Neil DOWNER (1:19:16) 142nd Graham REYNOLDS (1:28:21) 237th Steve SHARP (1:38:02) 295th Steve ROWE (1:44:03) 345th Sally DAVIES in (1:49:30)
Drogo Ten Sunday 16th November Torbay Athletic Club had 14 members running in the Drogo Ten known to be one of the very toughest 10 mile races in the South West being a very hilly, muddy cross-country race with stunning views if runners get a chance to look up as they tackle the infamous Hunter’s Hill Path. This year half of every entry fee, from a record turnout of over 500 runners, was donated to the National Trust to help with the renovation of the Castle. Torbay had seven of their top runners competing at the front of the race with the first three winning the team prize. Had been a second team prize on offer Torbay AC would have also won that with the next 3 Team finishing positions After his parkrun win on Saturday Dave Tomlin led Torbay team from the start, but It wasn’t long before team-mate Arran Tocknell caught him up near the top of the first big hill. Both Tocknell and Adharanand Finn had nasty falls during the race needing treatment afterwards. First Torbay member home was Arran Tocknell in 4th place, improving his course personal best by nearly four minutes, followed closely by Dave Tomlin in 5th place with Simon Longthorpe 6th these together took the men’s team prize, Tomlin also won the Male Vet 40 category.
