They attract a broad range of cyclists from youth riders, beginners, sportivists, club runners, occasional racers, seasoned campaigners through to Professional Cyclists and Tour De France competitors ! Some of the benefits of club membership are
the ride is split into two ability groups. The A run is the faster group containing the clubs racing members and those looking to break into racing. Typically the average speed is 18 – 20 mph for the 60 – 70 mile ride. The B run is run off at a more leisurely pace 15 –17 mph and whilst most riders aim to complete the 60 mile ride many return home earlier to complete family duty’s. Many of our younger riders are now progressing onto this ride and the age range is from 14 – 75. They don’t leave anyone behind ! If you are having a bad day or a mechanical problem the group will wait for you and ensure you safely reach your destination. If you are coming out for the first time they advise that you bring a roadworthy bike a couple of spare inner tubes a pump and some money. Remember to wear suitable clothing and wrap up warm in the winter months. They always stop at the midway point to take on refreshments at the local café contact andy-parker@blueyonder.co.uk if you would like any more information Membership Form Click on image below ![]() ![]() |
