2010 PEARSONS CUP
 Torbay Juniors
Grab Pearsons Cup Glory
Torbay Athletic Club have got their hands on the Pearson Cup for the first time since 2006 after winning the junior inter-club competition at Torquay on July 18th 2010.

A combination of 19 wins and 20 additional podium finishes in the 34 track and field events was enough to give the hosts the win from runners-up Dartmouth A.C. and last season's champions Newton Abbot A.C. third and South Devon A.C. fourth.

The annual competition now in its 30th year, attracted more than 90 athletes between the ages of eight and twelve.

Four of the Torbay team won all three of their individual events.

In the Under 10 boys, Johnny Joseph showed his all-round ability by winning on the
track (75m), the throw (vortex), and long jump. Elder sister Emily matched her brother's feats, winning the same three events at Under 11 girls level.

The overall best boy award went to Matthew Birkett, who won his three events - the Under 11 boys 75m, 600m and long jump in emphatic style.

New member Shauna Poole, competing in her first club meeting was awarded the best girl award after winning three golds in the Under 13 girls 600m, shot and long jump.
